Walk On to Glory

Walk On to Glory
You can't judge a book by its cover. At first glance, one would think this is a football book. It's not. It's totally about perseverance in order to bring glory to God. Yes, there is a lot of football in it because that was an intense desire of Graham Nabity when he walked on to play football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The overwhelming theme, however, is to challenge the reader to focus on Jesus Christ in every circumstance of life. "As an I-back, fullback and special teams contributor, Graham played in 36 games at Nebraska and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, a HERO Leadership Award and multiple honors on the Tom Osborne and Brook Berringer Citizenship Teams. Those achievements are meaningful, but the lessons he learned this past year go well beyond football, and that's why Art Lindsay decided to write a book through the dual lenses of Graham and the Nebraska Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Graham read scripture at Sam Foltz's memorial service in Grand Island. He was the only Husker player or coach to speak during the service. The overall experience from such a monumental tragedy strengthened Graham's knowledge of God in terms of worshipping, giving thanks at the same time his team was mourning and displaying godly character before, during and after every game. The greatest thing about football is the lessons you learn throughout the journey. You realize that simple faith, trust and hope help you compete for the glory of God and, in the process, it becomes both a blessing and an honor." --Mike Riley, Nebraska Head Football Coach
